GIRL SCOUT
RENEWAL DAY
7 NOVEMBER 2009, Cathedral
Grade School,
Belleville, IL
Registration deadline is
October 22nd, 2009.
RELIGIOUS AWARDS

Annually the River
Bluffs Catholic Committee on Girl Scouting hosts a renewal for
each age level of Girl Scouts.
During the renewal day the Brownies complete some of the
requirements for their “Family of God” religious award while the
Juniors work on their “I Live My Faith” and the
Cadettes
work on “Mary, The First Disciple” formerly the Marian Medal.
Not all requirements are completed for any one award.
While a Girl Scout
does not have to be Catholic to attend this day of religious
reflection, most discussions and the prayer service include a
Catholic perspective and a Catholic theme.
In
fact sometimes a reconciliation service and Mass are a part of
the day’s activities, depending on the availability of a priest.
This year the
renewal date is Saturday, November 7th and it will be held at
Cathedral
Grade School,
Belleville.
Enter the school at the middle doors off the parking lot.
The Brownie
renewal costs $5.00 per girl.
Leaders are free.
Your registration fee includes a hall rental, snack and program
supplies.
The older girl
(Junior, Cadette, and Senior) program costs $18.00 per
girl/adult.
One adult is free for every registering troop.
Your registration fee includes hall rental, a light lunch, two
snacks, dinner and program supplies.
The program concludes about 8:30 p.m.
